The Hush is a great book, beautifully written, atmospheric, chilling and thrilling. Some of the reviews take serious issue with its supernatural elements but for me they work well as a device for exploring how history, and particularly historical trauma, echoes through the /5().

The Hush is the second book to John Harts The Last Child which we also did as a Sisters Read not too long ago. We read The Hush with three of our Traveling Sisters and we were all really excited to read it as we all absolutely loved The Last Child/5.

The 'hush" in the title obviously relates to the cover up of a little girl's sexual abuse by someone in her family and her best friend's determination to bring this to the community's attention despite opposition from all quarters. It made for a very uncomfortable read but a justice of sorts was served in the end/5().

The Hush is a imaginative, engaging and enthralling fantasy, with elements of suspense and science fiction. Skye is one of my favourite authors, she creates vivid worlds in which readers can fully immerse themselves, likable characters and is /5.

Hush, Hush is the first book in the series. The story focuses on Nora Grey who's life is pretty ordinary until a student transfers to her school, Coldwater High.

Nora doesn't know what to think of the new boy "Patch" but definitely isn't happy when he becomes her new biology partner, separating her from her BFF Vee/5(K). "Ambitious and inventive, The Hush brings to mind the work of a wide range of authors, including William Faulkner, John Grisham, and Michael Koryta.

Besides his winning cast of human characters, Hart manages to bring Raven County and its environs to vivid life, imbuing it with a dark personality all its own. Hush (Tommy Elliot) is a fictional supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero first appeared in Batman # (January ) as part of the issue storyline Batman: Hush.

Hush When she is twelve, Toswiah and her older sister Cameron have to leave the place they’ve always known, change their identities and leave no trace of their past life.

Toswiah becomes Evie. Hush, Hush is the story of Nora Grey, an average high school student going about her business as usual -- until her Biology teacher rearranges the class seating and places her next to the dangerous-looking new kid, Patch Cipriano.

The Hush is a combination mystery, thriller, psychological suspense, and horror story, all neatly meshed by this master storyteller." —Otto Penzler, Favorite Book of MarchThe Mysterious Bookshop (New York, NY)Brand: St.

Martin's Press. Hush is a series of paranormal romance novels written by Becca Fitzpatrick. The books follow the exploits of a young girl who falls for an angel. +The Story. The Hush series began publication in This was at the height of the Young Adult genre.

Hart’s ambitious, uneven, but ultimately provocative thriller initially seems set up along conventional narrative lines.

In particular, the tale’s opening events suggest a legal thriller centered on two characters, Johnny Merrimon and Jack Cross, returning from the author’s earlier book The Last Child ().

Johnny faces losing the Hush, the 6, acre, half. Hush, Hush is a series of urban fantasy/paranormal romance novels by American author Becca Fitzpatrick. HUSH, Eishes Chayils pseudonymously written debut novel, is an astonishing look into the highs and lows of an incredibly insular community. It will bring you to your knees, laughing and crying, and is the type of book that youll want to 4/5.

Review: Dark, haunting, and unpredictable. The Hush takes us back to into the lives of Johnny Merrimon and Jack Cross 10 years after we first met them in The Last Child as they face a journey of survival against resentment, jealousy, legal woes, the wilderness, and the unsettled skeletons and secrets of the past.

The writing is gloomy and exceptional descriptive. “The Hush” takes place 10 years after the events recounted in “The Last Child.” By this time, much has changed.

Johnny’s mother has remarried and rebuilt her life. hush Summary. First, some truth: hush is not an edge-of-your-seat terms of action, well, there's just not a lot. Most of the book is an internal monologue from the protagonist, Toswiah Green, as she comes to accept her family's changed situation and her new identity, Evie Thomas.

Here's the deal. THE HUSH, which is set a decade after the events of THE LAST CHILD, delivers everything you might expect and so much more. While this latest book occasionally references its predecessor and shares some of its characters, it is more a stand-alone work than a sequel.Hush Homework Help Questions.
